Art Party

We combined Kalia & Emilee’s parties this year, mostly so family didn’t have to make so many trips up our way (gotta try to save gas where we can, right?)

I decided to go with an art party. Although the party part was more for Kalia I didn’t want anything too silly since Emilee was kind of sharing the day.

We had canvases for each child to paint a masterpiece, suncatchers, foam flowers with a number of different decorations (sequins, buttons, etc…) and pipe cleaners for stems and an assortment of beads to make bracelets or necklaces. The tables were covered with end roll paper and there were various colored markers for their drawing pleasure. Even the adults had fun! Smile

The only request Emilee had was the flavor of her cupcakes. She chose raspberry lemonade…and they were DELICIOUS! I also made neopolitan cupcakes (brownie bottoms, strawberry tops and white frosting). They were a hit, too.

It was a beautiful day. A little windy, but the sun was shining and it was fairly warm.

We ended the day with presents. We were super excited to gift Emilee with a myriad of One Direction items: t-shirt, biography, posters, CD & DVD, from her aunt & us. She also got a hand-crafted bracelet from her papa, gift card to Wet Seal from grandma, and some cash. Kalia got some education items (my favorites Smile ): preschool workbooks and a Spongebob DVD (which she wouldn’t put down the entire time she opened the rest of her gifts…the girl LOVES her some SpongeBob!), some cash, a Toys R’Us gift card, a LeapFrog ABC toy, and a bike and some really cool boots from us.

After the party ended, we went out to dinner at Chili’s.
