Winter Getaway - Day 2

Day 2 took us into downtown Chicago....to the Museum of Science & Industry.

If any of you ever get the chance to get to Chicago, take the time to visit this museum. It's awesome! We've been twice now, and if we ever get to Chicago again with the kids, will definitely visit again. We spent the ENTIRE day there, with a break only for lunch (and it was a quick lunch...we could barely get the girls to sit down long enough to scarf down a slice of pizza & a drink). There is so much to do and see that you just lose all track of time.

We saw chicks that had just hatched and eggs that were 13 days away from hatching....frogs that had been genetically altered to have green glowing eyes....a video of a calf being born and how to milk a cow....we toured a real WWII German Submarine....took a tour under the museum to a recreation of a coal mine....toured a full size jumbo jet plane....viewed Christmas Around the World (Christmas trees decorated with ornaments depicting various countries of the world)...and TONS more!

This was by far the favorite activity of the weekend! We arrived at the museum at 9:30 and left at 5:30. FUN....FUN....FUN!!!

We made our way back to the hotel (thru pouring rain & tons of traffic), found a Chili's (YUMMY!), filled our tummies (cause the slice of pizza from 6 hours ago was LONG gone!) and headed back to the room to rest. No swimming that night, as we were all pooped and needed some rest.

Next up...Navy Pier, Winter WonderFest and the American Girl store.
