Christmas Kickoff

I consider Living Windows & the two local Christmas parades to be our Christmas Kickoff. It really seems the season begins with these 2 activities.

Living Windows is always a good time, but often it’s so cold it’s hard to truly enjoy yourselves. This year it was PERFECT! It was around 40 degrees, with no wind. A light jacket & gloves was all that was needed.

We enjoyed watching the many carolers & dancers performing in the windows. Kalia loved watching the carolers, getting cookies/hot chocolate/candy canes, and petting this live goat.

After enjoying ourselves downtown we headed to Pizza Hut for some dinner.

On Saturday we headed downtown again to watch the Christmas parade. What a difference 24 hours makes! It was cold & rainy. I felt so bad for everyone in the parade. They took a lot of time making these floats and then the nasty weather put a damper on everything. We started out watching from the street, but quickly moved to watching from the comfort of our truck.

Sunday was our little town’s parade. It wasn’t raining, but was cloudy and a little cool. Kalia enjoyed watching & collecting some candy & goodies.

I hope to finish up decorating tonight or tomorrow. It’s going to be pretty sparse this year since our house is on the market and our realtor recommends not over-decorating. I’m not gonna lie….I’m pretty bummed. But we’re going to make the most of it…and hoping it works out and the house sells quickly!
