Memorial Day Air Show

Every year the small airport near us puts on a nice Memorial Day air show. We don't usually get the chance to attend, as Dan usually has to work. But, because he switched shifts when he got his promotion, he was off this year. So we decided to give it a go!

It was okay, but not as fun as I remember it being years ago. It was scorching hot that day, as it usually is (especially hot being on the tarmac...the cement & hangars seem to reflect a lot of heat). We always enjoy looking at all the planes they have on display, but really like watching the in-air stunts (which they had very little of this year). When we went about 4-5 years ago there was very little really happening on the ground....all eyes were always on the sky. This year we were there for about 3 hours and all we saw in the air was the sky-diving team!

Kind of a bummer....but it gave us something to do. And I was able to get some really nice pics.

This is how Kalia started the day:

And this is how it ended...approx. 4 hours later :)
