Playing in Corn

Most people use rice...or beans. But we're so obviously not most people. We live for being different :)

We're trying to subject Kalia to different textures. Work her sensory skills a bit...

Rice & beans were too expensive, so we opted for something a little different...whole corn...what you'd feed livestock.

She wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but the more she plays the more she likes it. We use it just like you'd use sand (except with corn we can play inside during inclement weather). We scoop it with plastic shovels and pour it from cup to cup. Occasionally we even hide things in the corn & make her find them.

And sometimes she gets tired of playing with the corn, and decides to play in the corn.

Well worth the $6...in my opinion.

  1. We played in all kinds of things at MOCA...ranging from water to corn to sand to goop and so much more. It's simply amazing what a change in texture can teach a kid :) Looks like she had fun!!!
