Christmas Day

The girls actually slept in this morning (this NEVER happens). We woke up around 7:30, and noticed it was awfully quiet. How crazy is it that you actually have to WAKE your kids up on Christmas Day???

It didn't take much convincing to get them out of bed. Once they remembered what day it was they were up in a flash! We couldn't wait to get them out into the living rooms to see the bikes that "Santa" brought! We were almost to the living room when Emilee decided she had to make a pit stop at the bathroom. Oh, she's killing me! I was like, hurry up...I couldn't wait to see their faces!!!!

I eventually got what I was waiting for, though. She saw them as soon as she stepped around the corner....and that's where she stopped. I think she had to pick her jaw up off the floor! She couldn't believe what Santa had brought her. (Amanda didn't even stop....she just ran right over & claimed hers! That was what she'd been asking for, and we kept telling her there was NO way she was getting a bike!)

After messing with their bikes for a bit, they remembered that "Santa" fills their stockings, too. So they ran over to see what he'd left for them this year.

Then it was off to get ready to head to Grandma & Papa's house (Dan's side). They want us down there as early as possible, though we're rarely there til around 10:30 or so (they live an hour away from us, and we want to take time to enjoy the girls opening their gifts). Of course, the bikes had to come with us!

Once there they opened their gifts. Amanda got a helmet and 2 board games. Emilee got a helmet, a H@nnah Mont@na DVD game and a J0nas Br0s. poster.

They immediately put their helmets on & took off on a bike ride. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the end of December (sunny & around 40 degrees).

After dinner with Dan's grandparents & family, and a few board games with Grandma & Papa, we headed home to chill out! The girls popped a movie in, Dan & I cleaned up a bit, and we all relaxed and reflected on what a glorious Christmas it was!
