Weekend Recap (The Room is Done!!!!)

FRIDAY: The girls got the chance to practice some Yoga this evening, through Girl Scouts. They had a great time! I just watched, but it looked like something I wouldn’t mind trying. At the end of the session they took about 10 minutes to totally relax. The instructor turned off most the lights, turned on some really soft, relaxing music and spoke softly to them asking them to relax each muscle in their body. I was standing on the sidelines watching, but if I had been laying down I would probably have made a fool of myself and fallen fast asleep. I know it sounds funny, but even standing up I could feel myself totally relaxing and even closed my eyes a couple times. This yoga thing may be something worth looking into!

SATURDAY: The room is finished! Completely! I don’t know about you all, but I didn’t think it would ever get finished. It was a lot of work, but it looks awesome! Don’t you think?

I have to give a big shout out to my hubby. I may have come up with the design & colors, but most of the actual labor was all Dan. I helped, but I probably only handled 25% of the physical stuff. I have the world’s best hubby! Thanks so much! It looks awesome!

We also took the girls to the free fall matinee at the movie theater. This weekend they were playing “Nancy Drew”. Not my favorite movie, but the girls enjoyed it. It started out REALLY slow, but did get better towards the end. I’ve watched worse, but I’ve also watched much better! But, hey, you can’t beat free!

When we got home, it was like Christmas! I’d ordered a couple of books that came in (“I Love You Like Crazy Cake” board book and “Forever Lily”), and some really cute butterfly hair bows.
I also got some beautiful Halloween hair bows from Gail for our November Yahoo Group exchange (Love them! Thanks so much!)

Emilee’s birthday is tomorrow, so she got a package from her grandma and half-sister who lives in Arizona. Like I said, felt like Christmas!

I can’t believe my baby has turned 9! Boy do the years just fly by. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital. She has grown into such a beautiful, fun little girl who always manages to put a smile on my face. Seriously, this girl is funny! No matter what kind of mood you’re in, she can find a way to make you laugh. I love that about her (along with so many other things). She’s also very kind and really cares about other people. We love you, Emilee!

(We’ll be having her party this coming Friday and taking a trip to Build-A-Bear on Sunday. I’ll post pics of everything next weekend)

Finally I can see my living room! Most of the stuff from the girl’s room was piled in the living room while we were redecorating. It’s so nice to have my space back. For about 24 hours our house is spotless! Unfortunately it won’t last long.

  1. Room looks great! What an accomplishment to have it done! Now, time to start on the nursery, huh? Your books look great & your bows are cute too! Hope the b-day party is a success! Have fun at "Build A Bear" as well.
Way to go Dan with all of the "physical" work on the girl's room. I know the whole family really appreciates your hard work! It looks great!
