We started the weekend off with a fundraising garage sale. We did really good! We actually held the sale Friday and Saturday and ended up making over $600 (for both days). If anyone’s looking for a good fundraiser, I’d recommend giving this a try. We had a couple people donate items, and I think it went over pretty good.
SATURDAY: We had the garage sale until about 1:00 today, then cleaned up and headed into town to do some SHOPPING!!! (Had to put that hard-earned money to good use) We gave the girls a little spending money and headed off to Toys R’ Us and Target to hit the Labor Day sales. We found some really good buys…especially at Toys R’ Us. I now have swimsuits for Kalia from 12 months to 3T (actually a couple different ones in each size). I also picked up a cute puppy that hangs on the crib and plays music and barks. I saw him in a magazine and had to have him. He’s so cute!

SUNDAY: Emilee still had a little money left over and wanted to see what else she could find, so we headed back into town today. She ended up finding some earrings and crafts to keep her busy for awhile…and I found some goodies for upcoming cyber showers & secret pal gifts.
MONDAY: Finally, Dan’s off work and we can spend some time together. We headed into Lowes today and picked up some projects to keep us busy for awhile. We’re going to paint the girl’s room, install a new closet organizer in both their’s and the baby’s room (Man, are those things expensive!), install new cabinets in the kitchen/dining room and a new tile floor in the kitchen. We’re also working on planting some fall flowers and staining the porch. See…lots of projects to keep us busy!
We had a great weekend and enjoyed some time together. Now we’re looking forward to this coming weekend, when we’re off the Kansas City for the day. We’ll be visiting Build-a-Bear, World’s of Fun and going to the Royals vs. Yankees ball game. It’ll be a looonnnnggg day, but we’ll have a blast!
Congrats on your successeful garage sale! That is great! Sounds/looks like you put the $$$$ to great use! Cute outfits! (I know all about that shopping! If I don't cut it out, we will have to build a room on just to house the Rubbermaid Tubs! HA!) Sounds like you & Dan are going to be busy with your household projects.....never ending, huh? Always something to keep us busy, isn't there? I guess that is a good thing. I am forever making list after list of "to do's"! Keeps our mind off of the wait....HA! NOT! That is a good theory! Too bad it doesn't work that way! Have a great time on your K.C. trip! Sounds like a lot of fun! Have you ever checked out the GreatWolf Lodge in K.C.? The girls would LOVE that place! Jen P.
ReplyDeleteForgot.....have a ? What size are you mainly purchasing in the clothes dpt? I have been buying a lot of 6-9 months. I think that I am now moving on to 12 months or larger as I have SO much of the 6-9. (My family/friends keep telling me that we will have to change Mia's clothes once an hour for her to get to wear them all! HA!) I have bought a few 3-6 that look big......everyone says the girls are so tiny. I was just looking for some advice......Jen P.
