Weekend Recap

This weekend was, as usual, very busy.

On Saturday we got up bright & early (5 a.m.) and prepared for our garage sale. We were hoping to make a good amount to put in savings for our China trip. We didn't do too bad, but not near as good as I'd hoped. We made a little over $300, and got rid of a lot of stuff, but I think we're going to plan another one for mid-September. By then it will have cooled down some, and people will be thinking about the holidays (we have some really neat Christmas gifts). We've gotten quite a few items for donations, so hopefully everything will sell and we'll end up with a good chunk to put towards our trip.

Saturday night Dan, Emilee and I went to see Ratatouille. Dan & Emilee really enjoyed it...I thought it was o.k. There were some really cute & funny parts, but I've seen better animated movies.

Amanda was camping this weekend with my sister. It was her first time and she had a lot of fun. They stayed Friday & Saturday night, with a 12 mile canoe trip on Saturday. By the time she got home Sunday afternoon she was pooped! She did make some friends while there, and has already said she wants to go again next year. I'm not the camping type, so I'm glad she got the opportunity to go with her aunt!

On Sunday we attended a lunch with some of the other adoptive families in our area. This was the first one we've been able to make. We met up at the Winery for a nice lunch and some good conversation. It was really nice getting to know everyone and having someone close by who understands the adoption highs & lows. This will become a great support group!

I have some updated pictures of my cute little nephew. Enjoy!
