The girls both had their first ball games this week...Amanda's on Tuesday and Emilee's on Wednesday. (Amanda's first game was actually last Friday, but we had to miss that one, so we're counting Tuesday as her first).
We'll start with Amanda's game. Amanda plays either left or right field, and did really good for
her first game. You know it always takes 1 or 2 games before they start playing like you know they can. It takes a while to get used to your new teammates and working together. I think they did a really good job! Everyone was batting well, making good throws & catches, and being very supportive of each other. Great teamwork! Amanda had 2 hits, 1 to left infield and 1 deep into right field. She made it on base both times, but got out at 3rd both times. Never made it home...but that's o.k. They will improve with every practice and every game and by the end of the season we'll be able to notice a HUGE improvement!

She plays awesome 3rd base...not too much gets by her! This is her first year playing catcher, so she's still learning, but is really
doing a great job! We've taught her to throw off her mask and try to catch the pop-ups and to move up to the plate and be ready to catch the ball and make the out. She's doing better at batting, but since this is her first year playing softball (she's played t-ball the last 3 years), she still needs a lot of practice. She struck out the first 2 times at bat, had a small hit the 4th time (out at first), but the 4th time she hit a pretty good one to left field and made it all the way to 3rd base. She never made it home, but just getting to 3rd base did a lot to boost her confidence. With a little more practice, she'll be an awesome batter by the end of the season! Her next game is Friday...I'm sure it will be a good one!

and Emilee's team is 1-0.
Undefeated so far! Stay tuned!
