This past Saturday the local FCC group had their annual Chinese New Year celebration. We decided this would be a good way for the girls (and us) to learn a little about the New Year. We had a great time! All the kiddos were so cute!
Amanda ended up finding a Chinese style dress that she really liked, so we bought that for her. Emilee decided on a silk fan (of course, after we got home she decided she wanted one to. So now I need to find one for her!)
They had a lot of fun activities (mostly geared towards the younger kids, but the girls still had fun) such as pig origami, scratch-art dragons and making ladybugs. They also had some really cool squeaky shoes for sale (for $20! Too much for me!). I've never seen any before, so now when people mention them, I'll know what they are. (Annoying, that's what! There is no way squeaky shoes will be allowed in my house. I'll buy them, but the squeaker is coming out!)
Anyway, here's some pictures. Maybe Baby K will be able to join us for next year's celebration!

What a fun celebration for families. It looks like the girls had a blast! I wish I could've been there.
ReplyDeleteHey Brandi. I found your blog surfing - ha - really is a small world.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a fun time at the CNY celebration. We didn't get to go because it was on a bad weekend for us. I am hoping they have another event soon.
Keep in touch!
